Name of the Event: Cracked Tablet
Description: When Moriya Kusanagi revisited the seal of Orochi last time, he believed that the five stone seals, and finally the stone tablet itself, would break in sequence to the number of children born from the Kusanagi clan. This was what he interpreted from the runes inscribed upon the five remaining runes; there were originally eight. This made Moriya assume that since three Kusanagi clan members existed at present, the first three runes had been destroyed. So he had taken a vow to never continue the bloodline of Orochi...
But his interpretation was false. The kanji was in a coded language; it looked similar to usual kanji, but the true meaning was different. If someone read all eight runes with normal kanji, they would see that the text was incomplete. Ancient Kusanagi clan members had known how to read it; but as time passed, the descendants of Orochi forgot the divine script. The runes Moriya read were:
"Sealed, is Yamata no Orochi, the beast of all beasts, the 8-headed serpent; 8 heads sealed within 8 stone seals. The blood of Orochi still carries on to this day; and the final generation of Orochi clan members has arrived. Their power, bested by all their previous ancestors, meant the breakdown of the ancient seal cast upon Orochi. With their existence, the forbidden seals were imprinted with a second set of seals, overriding the original dark seals of Orochi. With each birth, the seals-"
Moriya, naturally finding this a suitable and self-explanatory ending, thought that it meant that each of Orochi's following children would break one more rune. But he hadn't read the remaining kanji, the ones on the runes that were broken:
With each birth, the seals would gather more pure energy, pure energy from the souls who did wrong to the blood of Orochi. Each hint of pure energy, would form a seal above the dark seal, used to seal the great beast. Thus it shall continue...
This, was the inscription written on the five runes and three remaining runes respectively. However, the story does not end there... if the kanji was read in that special coded language, (Revealed to the elder Kusanagi clan members, who had forgot to pass the language down to their descedants) the rest of the legend was:
Thus it shall continue, until the holy seals cause mass conflict with the dark seals, destroying the eight stoned seals one by one. The eldest child of Orochi now holds the power to release Orochi, his purity, so great, one rune breaks every few months. When the time comes that all the original eight seals break, the stone tablet would hold back Orochi...
...
Years have passed since Moriya last visited the Stone Tablet; the Seal of Orochi. And now, the final rune has fallen apart. According to the lost legend, the stone tablet would hold off Orochi... or would it? The final part of the legend was written on the tablet itself:
The stone tablet, being the last, almost invincible seal of the great serpent, was holding one major fault, weakness. If one holding the will of Orochi, and His powers, approaches the tablet, and uses the power of Orochi itself to break the seal, the tablet will crack. The beast known as Yamata no Orochi, the 8-headed, 8-tailed serpent, shall shake the heavens and earth with it's vengeance once more.
Moriya decided to make one last visit to the seal of Orochi. He stared in shock when he realized that all the seals were broken. Still determined to keep Orochi sealed for good, he confidently used his chakra to reinforce the seals upon the stone tablet. The tablet began cracking; a bright, dark purple light flashed out of the crack. The crack expanded, until it broke the tablet in half. From that small crack, a cloudy spirit-like wave flew out; and all was silent.
Moriya had fallen unconscious; as did all other Kusanagi clan members, immediately. The great serpent Yamata no Orochi had risen once more, this time, terrorizing the newest generation of ninja.
It is up to you to slay this beast, cut off one head of Orochi. The beast's powers slowly unveiling itself, the sooner you beat it, the easier it will be. Losing one head would be enough to send the serpent at it's heels; and that is your objective. Slay one head of Orochi. And await for mysterious treasures to follow...
